“You shall be my witnesses” — Acts 1:8

On the day of the Ascension, the Lord promised the Apostles the power of the Holy Spirit and traced the path of the mission: from Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. It is the promise fulfilled at Pentecost and continued in every Christian.
But you shall receive the power of the Holy Ghost coming upon you, and you shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts of the Apostles 1:8
Holy Spirit, power from on high promised by the Lord, come down upon us as you came upon the Apostles: make us courageous witnesses of Christ, first in our own Jerusalem — our home, our work, our neighbourhood — and then to wherever you may send us. Take from us all fear and human respect, and give us the joy of proclaiming what we have seen and heard. You who are God with the Father and the Son, for ever.
