Prayer to St Thérèse of the Child Jesus
A traditional prayer based on the promise the saint made shortly before her death (30 September 1897): I will spend my heaven doing good on earth… I will let fall a shower of roses. The formula below was consecrated by universal devotion after her canonisation (1925).
O Little Thérèse of the Child Jesus, you who promised to spend your heaven doing good upon earth, and to let fall a shower of roses upon all who invoke your aid:
obtain for me, I pray you, this grace which I so much desire (mention petition), if it be conformable to the will of God and the salvation of my soul.
O Little Flower of Jesus, shower upon me the roses of God’s love, of patience in trials, and of fidelity to daily grace. Teach me your little way of spiritual childhood — humility of heart and boundless trust in the Father. Amen.
Our Father. Hail Mary. Glory be.
