For the Souls in Purgatory (St Gertrude)

Prayer revealed to St Gertrude the Great (13th c.), German Benedictine and visionary of the Sacred Heart. Tradition holds that the Lord promised to release a thousand souls from Purgatory each time this prayer is devoutly recited. Approved by the Sacred Congregation of Rites and enriched with indulgences by Leo XIII.

Eternal Father, I offer thee the Most Precious Blood of thy divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, for those in my own home and within my family. Amen.
