Collect of the Holy Archangels — Roman Missal
The Collect of the Mass of the Holy Archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, feast of 29 September, in the Roman Missal of Paul VI (3rd typical edition, 2002). A liturgical formula of very ancient tradition (present in the Gelasian Sacramentary, 7th c.), which sums up in a single prayer the office of the angels: to attend on God in heaven, to defend men on earth.
O God, who dispose in marvellous order ministries both angelic and human, graciously grant that our life on earth may be defended by those who watch over us as they minister perpetually to you in heaven.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, in the unity of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
In Latin
Amen.
