Prayer to St Gabriel the Archangel

A traditional prayer to the Archangel Gabriel, the messenger chosen by God to announce to the Virgin Mary the mystery of the Incarnation of the Word (Lk 1:26-38). By designation of Pius XII (brief Quod proxime, 12 January 1951), St Gabriel is the heavenly patron of workers in telecommunications, radio, and the social communications. Liturgical feast on 29 September with Michael and Raphael.

Glorious Archangel St Gabriel, messenger of the Most High, chosen by God to announce to Mary Most Holy the mystery of the Incarnation of the Eternal Word, obtain for me the grace to receive, as she received, the will of God in my life.

Sustain with your light those who proclaim the Gospel, the messengers of peace, the preachers and catechists; and protect the professionals of the social communications, of whom you are heavenly patron by designation of Pope Pius XII.

Obtain for me the grace which I humbly ask of you (mention petition). Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
