Chaplet of the Divine Mercy

Prayer revealed to St Faustina Kowalska at Vilnius on 13 September 1935 (Diary §§ 474-476), and prayed by her at the hour of her death. It is said on ordinary rosary beads: on the large beads, the offering to the Eternal Father; on the small beads, the invocation of the Son. It closes with the threefold Holy God.

At the beginning

Our Father. Hail Mary. Apostles’ Creed.

On the large beads (once)

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of your dearly beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

On the small beads (ten times)

For the sake of his sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

At the end (three times)

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Optional closing: O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of mercy for us, I trust in you!
