Memorare to Our Lady of Tears

Remember, O Mary, Virgin of Tears,
what the Lord Jesus, your Son, said
to those who pray trusting in you:
whatever you ask the Father in my name, he will give you.

Encouraged by this confidence,
we have recourse to you, O Mother pierced with sorrow.
By the seven swords that pierced your soul,
by the tears you shed at the foot of the Cross,
by the anguish of receiving your dead Son into your arms,
obtain for us the grace we now ask:

Mother of mercy, refuge of sinners,
consolation of the afflicted, hope of the hopeless:
do not abandon us in the hour of trial,
and grant that, through the tears you shed,
we may one day reach eternal joy. Amen.
